Department of National DefenceHAL is working with C-Core and the Department of National Defence to assess the reliance of the general Canadian public on Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) services (commercial and civilian applications only, not military), potential vulnerabilities in GNSS, and how disruption of the services might impact users, and finally to develop a plan to mitigate or manage risks to GNSS services.
National Research CouncilHAL has been selected to conduct a study of astronomy in Canada, including: its socio-economic benefits and impacts, its performance relative to other countries, its relationship to other major science investments, the status of existing and proposed astronomy infrastructure and how it meets the needs of Canadian researchers, and defining what criteria should be used in assessing opportunities for investing in new astronomy infrastructure.
Industry CanadaHAL recently had the opportunity to speak to Industry Canada’s Audit Evaluation group about the main components of a performance audit and how performance audits differ from evaluations based on our experiences in conducting combined audits and evaluations.
Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and UniversitiesHAL has been selected to evaluate the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP), an important component of Ontario’s apprenticeship and skilled trades system. The objective is to learn what is working, what needs adjusting, and what is not working in the program.
Health CanadaHAL is assisting an interdepartmental ADM Working Group developing a set of scenarios that can anticipate the key variables and outline critical trends, drivers and possible uncertainties or wild cards that could determine the future shape and character of Canadian society looking ahead to the year 2025.
