The following projects provide some examples of work we have done concerning Ontario:
7991 Validation of the French Police Analytical Thinking Inventory (PATI): 7942 Evaluation of Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP): OYAP is a School to Work program administered by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities (MTCU). The HAL evaluation provided MTCU guidance on what was working, what needed adjusting, and what was not working in OYAP. 7920 Ontario Innovation Economy Scorecard: Drawing on a broad survey of recent work on innovation indicators at the national, regional, and local levels, HAL developed a measurement framework that portrays the innovation performance of Ontario in a manner that allows the Government of Ontario to situate its policy and program efforts related to research, education, and innovation within the context of the innovation system. 7897 Sarnia Manufacturing, Machine Shop and Engineering Inventory and Capability Study: examination of the present competitive situation of the local manufacturing, machine shop and engineering (MME) firms and provision of an action plan to enhance future growth and competitiveness within a global context for the Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership. 7838 Strategic Plan for the Guelph Agri-Innovation Cluster: HAL undertook extensive research and analysis of Guelph's local economy and its agri-innovation cluster in the context of broader sector trends and dynamics, to make recommendations on how to strengthen the competitive position of the Guelph cluster. 7833 Ontario’s Integrated Local Labour Market Planning (ILLMP) Framework: assessment of the readiness and capacity of Local Boards to take on expanded responsibilities to support the ILLMP process in each community. 7819 Agri-Bio Innovation Plan for Ontario: This sector strategy for the agri-bio industry of Ontario involved a detailed examination of the industry's structure, cluster and market dynamics, upon which strategic recommendations were made that set out a roadmap to enhance innovation in the agri-bio sector and improve its global competitiveness. 7780 Performance/Accountability Measures Development for Private Career Colleges in Ontario: broad consultation process on which performance and accountability measures would be useful to private career colleges (PCCs) and PCC stakeholders, and which performance measures should be collected to comply with the new Private Career Colleges Act, 2005. 7778 Port Hope Nuclear Energy Innovation Roundtable: HAL helped stakeholders build consensus towards the development of a nuclear energy cluster in Port Hope. 7775 Regional Action for Global Competitive Advantage: HAL developed a strategic action plan for strengthening the manufacturing sector in South Eastern Ontario. 7755 Policy for Collaborative R&D Lab: HAL created a draft policy for a new public/private R&D lab called the “Centre for Manufacturing Innovation (CMI) in Advanced Polymers Technology”. HAL also developed the performance matrix for the CMI to track its achievements according to the objectives of the Provincial Rural Economic Development Program. 7747 Review of Ontario's four Agri-Technology Innovation and Commercialization support Organizations: HAL undertook extensive research and analysis of each organization in the context of Ontario's agri-innovation system, their service offerings and client base. This research and analysis informed a set of recommendations leading to the restructuring and consolidation of the organizations. 7737 Ontario’s Entertainment and Creative Cluster Study: HAL analyzed Ontario’s entertainment and creative cluster, which comprises motion pictures, television production, sound recording, book and magazine publishing, and interactive digital media. 7648 Benchmarking Study of Canadian Provincial and US State Advanced Networks: ORION provides Ontario’s regional optical data network. HAL examined best practices used by peer organizations across Canada and the USA that could help the ORION board, management, and staff to determine any changes necessary to improve processes and obtain better results. 7647 Consulting/Facilitation Services in Relation to Strategic Priorities Review: HAL helped ORANO re-assess its plans and priorities in order to adapt to dramatic changes in the research and education environments through consultations with stakeholders using an electronic survey and four roundtable sessions. 7427 Development of a Biotechnology Cluster Innovation Plan: HAL assisted the Western GTA Consortium (WGTAC) with the development a Biotechnology Cluster Innovation Plan that ensured that all stakeholders shared a common vision for the cluster’s strategic directions, initiatives, and implementation plan. |
