8125 Exploring Clusters: Best Practices and Implications

HAL is assisting FedDev Ontario in their efforts to foster the southern Ontario economy by: providing a synopsis of the themes emerging from the relevant economic literature regarding industrial cluster formation and benefits; providing an overview of various cluster promotion strategies; and outlining best practices in cluster development as they apply for regional development agencies and for FedDev Ontario in particular.

8120 National Farm-Level Biosecurity Standards Final Year Assessment

HAL has been asked to provide a final year assessment of the development process and practicality of National Farm Level Biosecurity Standards and Producer Guidance documents produced by the CFIA as part of the Growing Forward Initiative, under an MOU with Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC). The assessment will also include the National Avian On-Farm Biosecurity Standards and Producer Guidance documents that were not developed as part of the Growing Forward program.

8103 Review of Innovation Forums under Growing Forward

Under the Canada-Ontario Bilateral Agreement for Growing Forward, seven innovation forums have been completed that developed coordinated and collaborative science and innovation action plans that address identified challenges and opportunities in the agriculture sector. HAL is assisting the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada to use the forum outcomes to inform future policy and program priorities, planning and improvements.
