HAL has been engaged by Alberta Employment and Immigration, acting on behalf of the Forum of Labour Market Ministers Secretariat, to develop an inventory of current initiatives by federal and provincial/territorial governments aimed at addressing basic literacy and digital skills gaps amongst Canada’s workforce and identify promising practices for improving productivity in Canada.

HAL is collaborating with an international group of organizations to examine how space-based systems can support policies in Europe and Canada. Space systems being examined include communications, earth observation, navigation, and science. Arctic policies cover safety, the environment, economic development, sovereignty, and indigenous and social development.
