National Research CouncilThe National Research Council has asked HAL to develop a systematic approach to evaluating the benefits from investments in large scale research infrastructure. Such an approach will assist in identifying, selecting, and managing these facilities to maximize the benefits to Canada. The approach will be applied to Canada’s particle accelerator, TRIUMF.
National Research CouncilHAL has been selected to conduct a study of astronomy in Canada, including: its socio-economic benefits and impacts, its performance relative to other countries, its relationship to other major science investments, the status of existing and proposed astronomy infrastructure and how it meets the needs of Canadian researchers, and defining what criteria should be used in assessing opportunities for investing in new astronomy infrastructure.
HAL has been asked by NRC to assist in the evaluation of the Institute for Aerospace Research (IAR) by preparing a framework and a set of 10 “Project Impact Profiles” that will provide a better understanding of the ultimate impacts of the IAR research programs.
